Heavy Metal Detox Protocol
A paced, three-phase approach: Prepare, Eliminate, Re-Build.
A slow, careful approach to heavy metals: reduce exposure first, support elimination, then use binders and minerals patiently.
This page is the free overview. The complete step-by-step heavy metal protocol, plus herb profiles, safety notes and a members’ Q&A, is in the Remedies Vault. See what’s in the Vault →
Is this protocol for you?
People often look into this protocol when they notice:
- Known exposure: old paint, some work settings, well water, frequent high-mercury fish
- A test result from your doctor that shows elevated metals
- Wanting to lower everyday exposure
Symptoms alone can’t tell you your metal levels. Ask your healthcare provider about blood or urine testing if you are concerned. High levels need medical treatment.
How it works: the three phases
1 · Prepare
Find and reduce your sources first (water filter, lower-mercury fish, safe handling of old paint), and make sure bowels and hydration are steady. Then rebuild your capacity (minerals from food, steady meals, good sleep) before any cleanse. In the SDM, Prepare takes about 4 weeks.
2 · Eliminate
Binders traditionally used include chlorella, modified citrus pectin and activated charcoal, taken away from food and medication. Go slowly. Mobilizing metals faster than you can clear them is what makes people feel worse.
3 · Re-Build
Replenish minerals such as zinc, selenium and magnesium from food, and keep up fibre and water so levels stay lower.
Safety first
- Chelation drugs are a medical treatment and should only be used under a doctor’s care.
- Only a qualified dentist should remove amalgam (silver) fillings, using safety protocols.
- Binders can block medications and nutrients. Separate them by at least 2 hours.
- Not for use during pregnancy, breastfeeding or childhood without medical supervision.
